This week in reception, We have been learning a new counting hip hop song called “Count to 20,” as well as learning how to find ‘1 more’ for numbers 1-20.

Check out the hip song we have been learning below:

In phonics last week, we learnt the sounds d, g, o and c, however this week we have been learning the sounds k, e, u and r. See if you can spot any things beginning with these sounds at home!

In maths, we have been making repeated patterns using shapes, instruments, cubes, bean bags, beads and our bodies!

We would like to invite parents into school on Tuesday 11th October for a Reading Morning. Mrs Tones will give a brief talk at 9.00am in the Upper School Hall, followed by a visit to the classroom to watch a Phonics lesson in practice! We hope you can make it!

Parent evenings are on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th October. Please sign up for an appointment on the notice board outside the classrooms.

Well done everybody for more fantastic learning – keep reaching for the stars! Don’t forget to check out some of our class photographs from our fabulous maths and phonics lessons below!

Thank you for your continued help and support,
The Reception Team
