This week, as part of our RE learning about the Christian faith, Year 2 visited Father Tom at our local Church of St. Paul’s, Winlaton.
We learned about the different features of a Christian church – sat in the pews, explored the font, altar, lecturn, organ and the parapet (where father Tom sometimes delivers his sermons!) and listened as Father Tom talked to us about the service of ‘Holy Communion.’ We also looked at some of the different imagery which can be found in the stained glass windows of many Christian churches.
Thank you to Father Tom for showing us around his ‘office!’
What a great place St Paul’s Church is and we hope to see you again for our forthcoming ‘Harvest Festival’ service!
