This week, Year 3 Rowan took a trip back in time – investigating how pre-historic men (and women!) might have found suitable materials for making weapons!

We discovered that rocks, as soft as potatoes, would be quite good materials but they got a bit mushy and chocolate was not hard enough to flake off (as a flint would have done). So the nearest we could get to creating flint flakes was using the sugar rock.
