It’s a messy job but someone’s got to do it!

This week, we had a very interesting delivery from an archaeologist -some Viking poo! We were all rather intrigued as to why we would be looking at this interesting specimen. In order to see what Viking’s ate, we had to get our hands dirty, and research the poo to see what we could find.

Interestingly, we found the following:

–         Stones (which would fall into bread from a quern stone)

–         Peas

–         Bread grains

–         Fish bones

–         Cherry stones.

Great investigating by all of Year 5, and well done for getting your hands dirty!
