Over the last term in Science, Year 5 have been investigating different materials – looking at: solids, liquids and gases and investigating ‘The Particle Model’.
After looking at this in more detail, we decided to see what would happen when we put lots of sugar into a solution to investigate its effect. We had to pour sugar and water into a bowl to begin our solution, then we had to heat our solution to begin the process. Next, we put some string into our solution to allow the ‘crystalisation’ process to take place. After a week, we were surprised to see that our string was covered in edible sugar rock. What a fantastic science experiment from Year Five!
