OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy about How Children Learn

  • The children must be actively involved in their own learning
  • We must provide the best learning environment we can
  • There must be a consistent daily routine
  • The interaction between the children and adults must be varied, appropriate, consistent and stimulating
  • Planning and assessment must be rigorous and dynamic
  • Families must be recognised as partners in their children’s education who offer unique cultural experience and need to be involved in the curriculum
  • Staff must be part of the current thinking and research into Early Years Education, aspire to the highest standards and access training to promote this

Play

The natural way for young children to learn is through play

In our Early Years we use play to:-

  • provide an opportunity to develop language
  • provide opportunities and motivation to practice basic skills
  • help develop self confidence
  • help children to learn to share
  • encourage thinking and decision making
  • nourish curiosity
  • develop concentration
  • stimulate interest
  • provide a secure basis for further learning

To find out more about our philosophy please see our Early Years Policy which can be found in About/Key documents/ Early Years Policy.
