Welcome to Year 2!
Mrs Traynor and Miss Sergison are our Year 2 teachers, and they are supported by Miss Westgarth and Mrs Herworth. Mrs Traynor teaches Year 2 Elder and Miss Sergison teaches Year 2 Poplar.

Last week, as part of their ‘Explorer’ topic, Year 2 visited the ‘Great North Museum’ in Newcastle – where they ‘explored’ different animal habitats and time periods.read more
On the last day of Spring term, as part of our ‘Healthy School’ Initiative, our whole school enjoyed a range of activities – including making smoothies with a pupil ‘pedal power’ stationary bike and a workshop with ‘Cooking for Life’ expert Nick!read more
As part of our RE learning about the Jewish faith (and to help us develop our fine motor skills in our Art and DT lessons) Year 2 have made some fabulous Jewish Mezuzah’s – to hang on our classroom and school doors!read more
This week, in our ICT lessons with Miss Westgarth, Year 2 have been learning about programming (using a simple computer programming app called ‘Scratch Junior’).read more

In our ICT lessons with Miss Westgarth, Year 2 classes have been learning about different ways in which DATA (information) can be presented – looking at how to interpret bar graphs, tally charts and pictograms. In the next few weeks we will be using our school IPADS and laptops to try and create our own bar graphs using Microsoft Excel!read more
