Welcome to Year 3!

Mrs Nugent and Miss Rowland are our Year 3 teachers, and they are supported by Mrs Richardson. Mrs Nugent teaches Year 3 Rowan and Miss Rowland teaches Year 3 Elm.

Year 3 visit the ISKON Hindu Temple!

Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous trip to the ISKON Hindu Temple, Newcastle today! Please take a look at some of our class photographs below, to see what an amazing time we all had! West Lane Run for Fun!

On Friday 25th May almost 400 of us (!) went to Saltwell Park, to participate in the annual ‘Gateshead Schools Fun Run’ event. We arrived by coach and when we got there we enjoyed warming up with the Metro Gnomes!

Father Tom leaves us…

We have been very fortunate to have had such a close relationship with our local church, so this week’s assembly was a particularly sad occasion for our school – as it was Father’s Tom leaving assembly.

West Lane choir ‘Sing Big’ at The Sage!

Last Monday, we had brilliant time at The Sage performing at the ‘Big Spring Sing’. Thank you to all of the wonderful West Lane parents who came to support us at the event and a huge thank you to Mrs Kendrick our fabulous music teacher from Gateshead council, who worked alongside Miss Sergison so that we could reach our full potential as a choir. We hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did!

Year 3 ‘expo’ with chef Nick!

On Wednesday 7th March, Year 3 were lucky enough to have Nick the Chef in school to teach us all about what kinds of foods the Ancient Mayans ate. We chopped, sliced and cooked a wide variety of ingredients to make a tortilla stew in Year 3 Rowan and vegetable chilli for Year Elm. The food was delicious!

Year 3 take a trip along a ‘watery’ path!

Yesterday, Year 3 enjoyed their much awaited and anticipated trip to Path Head Water Mill, Blaydon! The children followed up their visit, by writing some fabulous recounts (showing off their amazing vocabulary).
