Mrs Nugent and Miss Rowland are our Year 3 teachers, and they are supported by Mrs Richardson. Mrs Nugent teaches Year 3 Rowan and Miss Rowland teaches Year 3 Elm.

Last Monday, we had brilliant time at The Sage performing at the ‘Big Spring Sing’. Thank you to all of the wonderful West Lane parents who came to support us at the event and a huge thank you to Mrs Kendrick our fabulous music teacher from Gateshead council, who worked alongside Miss Sergison so that we could reach our full potential as a choir. On Wednesday 7th March, Year 3 were lucky enough to have Nick the Chef in school to teach us all about what kinds of foods the Ancient Mayans ate. We chopped, sliced and cooked a wide variety of ingredients to make a tortilla stew in Year 3 Rowan and vegetable chilli for Year Elm. The food was delicious!read more
Yesterday, Year 3 enjoyed their much awaited and anticipated trip to Path Head Water Mill, Blaydon! This week, Mrs Tetley led us in a ‘Rights Respecting’ assembly to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King – who fought for the rights of African Americans in the 1960’s. This assembly focused upon the United Nations Convention on the Rights of The Child: Article 1 (Everyone under the age of 18 has all the rights in the Convention) and Article 2 (The Convention on the Rights of the Child applies to everyone without exception and Governments should take all measures to ensure that children are protected against all forms of discrimination.)read more
